| Petticoat punishment is essentially the same thing as petticoat discipline. And although (as discussed elsewhere) petticoat punishment is less common today than it was at one time, there remains a surprisingly common fascination on the part of both girls and boys with boys being forced to wear girls’ clothing. Thus, even in families where the idea of an adult inflicting petticoat punishment on a child would be considered totally inappropriate, it is common for boys to find themselves being subjected to something like petticoat punishment by their sisters for female friends. For example, a common element of childhood games of “dare” that involve both boys and girls are known to rather commonly include the girls daring the boys to wear panties or to dress up completely as a girl in a skirt and blouse or dress.
